It is early to be happy for some people in India: the United States only “partially lifted” the ban on the export of vaccine raw materials to India

As we all know, there have been two serious outbreaks of COVID-19 in India recently, hundreds of thousands of people are infected every day, and a large number of infected people can not get treatment, so they have to be sent to the crematorium.

However, in recent years, the US government, which has been holding India against China and affectionately calling India its “ally”, refused to export raw materials of the new crown vaccine to India at this critical moment, which made the Indians Cry out to be cheated.

However, just this morning, the U.S. government seems to have changed its words, saying that it will aid India and lift the previous restrictions on the export of vaccine raw materials.

This news also immediately “reversed” the public opinion in India. Many Indian media reported the good news excitedly, and some Indian netizens were thanking the United States.

But the truth is not so simple.

This is because, according to the report of the New York Times of the United States, although the United States said under the pressure of public opinion that it would help India to fight the epidemic and lift the ban on the export of vaccine raw materials to India, this kind of assistance still needs to be based on the United States ensuring its own needs for national defense.

Therefore, the United States only “partially lifted” the ban.

In addition, the New York Times added that when explaining why the United States did not lift the ban on the export of vaccine raw materials to India, Ned Price, spokesman of the US State Department, had said frankly that this is because the United States should give priority to the interests of Americans.

In other words, when it comes to helping Indians or safeguarding the interests of Americans, the general direction of the US government has never changed.

As for the US government’s announcement that it will provide medical supplies such as oxygen to India at the same time, many Indian media have reported with eye-catching headlines, giving people the feeling that the US is “rushing to help” India.

However, the report of Hindu daily shows that oxygen, the most urgent relief material in India, is actually provided by the United States to the “private sector” in India.

As a result, some Indian netizens worry that the oxygen obtained by the private sector will not help the poor in India who are struggling with the epidemic. Some people even questioned why these materials, which are urgently needed by the public, were handed over to private organizations, and asked for a list of these private organizations.

It is not normal for Indians to be so obsessed with whether the United States can help them. As a big country with a population of more than 1 billion and a vast territory, it is reasonable to say that India, like China, should embark on the road of self-improvement instead of seeking help from a selfish hegemonic country, not to mention the epidemic prevention work of this country. At least at present, it seems that it is worse than itself and more people die than itself.
